Praying for Texas
When we need an anchor in the midst of our storms...
Lifting up all in the path of Hurricane Harvey and the devastating aftermath. May God's Protecting Hand hold all safe, in the eye of the storm, until the fury passes and the sun returns...
My Love, Always,

Hello from St. Lucia!
We have arrived on the sunny island of St. Lucia to begin our much anticipated vacation here in the Caribbean. Tomorrow we board the Mandalay for a bucket-list, week-long cruise on an old sailing schooner!
But before we board we have packed in some major sight-seeing... and for the record, the Island does not disappoint!
From flowering abundance:
to lazy waterfalls:
and amazing vistas:
The peace and beauty have already begun to unravel our tangled nerves!
And we say that there's no time like the present to start making some great memories...
We're not waiting another second!
Sweet sailing... See you in a week!!
P.S. We've got this self-stick thing down!!

Sitting in His Sovereignty
Sometimes a week can just suck the life right out of you...
Maybe you've been there. We have. These past days have been trying.
A beloved pet... gone too soon.
A investment soured... bankruptcy updates not what we had hoped.
A care-giving trial... dad's health and frustrations simmer low and long.
And in the midst of the hard, we saw this video-story of Chloe:
... beautiful, beautiful, tear-soaking, heart-lifting story. I needed this story. Now. In the middle of our hurting. And whether you are struggling with infertility or cancer, or loss or heartache, we can be reminded, completely and utterly, that God's Love and Sovereignty over our lives has not changed, nor will it ever... even despite a week like this one past of woes and worries and weeping.
And so...

We choose to Sit in His Sovereignty.
We choose to lift our tear-stained faces to Him.
We choose to proclaim our worship
to the One whose love is better than life...
Even on the hard days.
Graced to lift heavy hands today, because we have seen His Power and Glory,
Always,
Jane
Rest Sweetly in Peace
our little Petie...
You were loved mightily!

An Unplugged 4th...
The Farmer and I spent the weekend up at the lake place...
{Love}
And in an unexpected, but wonderful kind of way, we found ourselves without even a blip of an internet wave.
Nada... Zero... Zip...
At first, there was a wee bit of panic, but it didn't take long to settle into the easy rhythm of lake breezes and no schedules.
There was a walk thru the wildflowers growing in the field... yes, that very same septic field... Glorious, tiny little wildflower seeds you have grown into natural beauties!
And a lazy afternoon swinging by the pond....
And watching our baby koi fish... they made it thru the winter!
It was a little bit of bliss...that no agenda, taking it easy, my kind of weekend sort of bliss...
Well, that is until the Farmer got a bit restless and decided it was time to finish skirting Poppy's cute little cabin...
So, off to Home Depot for supplies, and we were hard at it!
Praying this weekend past was filled with the blessings of freedom, whether from pain, or stress or heartache... Trusting in the God who offers the truest freedom to set your hearts at rest this night.
My Love, Always,
Jane

Sort of looks done, but there's still a lot to do... like staining the boards, and landscaping the edges, even so, it ended up being a productive and fun weekend... love working with the Farmer :-)
To be honest, I didn't even miss the internet once! There's a nod to freedom in there somewhere I'm thinking.
And the sunsets were their own reward as we plopped our tired and worn-out selves into the swing at the end of each day...
My Love, Always,
Jane
