Chocolate must melt in order to take a new form.
~ excerpt from This is Not the Life I Ordered.
It is the truth! Sometimes Meltdowns can be Scumptiously Delicious! As in our Super-Easy, Crazy-Good, Fabulous Fudge...
We go from this:
to this:
with just a little work...and a lot of heat (meltdown magic)!
And because we've reached (and passed!) the halfway mark in our 31 Day Challenge, I thought it was the most appropriate time to take another Grace Break...with chocolate!
So, here is my Grace-Gift to you...our "secret" family recipe for the Best, Most-Requested, Absolutely-Easiest Fudge you will ever make! I do not lie...you must, must try it :-)
Start with 3 simple ingredients:
1 bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Line an 8 x 8 pan with aluminum foil:
Pour sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips into medium saucepan:
Yummy pile of chocolate just waiting for the meltdown to begin...
Gently heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly:
Do NOT bring to a boil. Just stir and melt, stir and melt...
About 5 minutes (give or take, there is no exact science to a meltdown)
When chocolate and sweetened milk are mixed together well,
chocolate will be somewhat shiny and nice and melty!
Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and stir, stir, stir:
Then quickly pour into prepared pan:
Cool pan of fudge for at least 4 hours in refrigerator:
Meltdown achieved!
After fudge has cooled, remove from pan and peel off foil,
then cut fudge into Delectable, Delicious Squares of Melt-in-your-Mouth Marvelousness!
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator (if there's any left to store!)
Finally, clean up the Meltdown Mess...
I suggest a spoon and a glass of milk.
As every cook knows, licking the spoon is the best part!
Bon Appetit!
